This Masters in Strategic Project Management (European), known as MSPME, is a unique programme in the field of Business Management. It is the only masters programme that takes an international perspective to the strong and growing demand for strategic thinkers who can deliver core business activities and realise competitive strategies in public, private and voluntary sector organisations through the implementation of strategic projects.

The program has been running since 2006. Funded by the European Union’s Erasmus plus program. Over the last 10 years we have just around 300 graduates from 47 different countries now working in key positions around the world.

The EU funding for the programme has come to an end with the 2016 intake. However, building on its success the programme will continue with an enhanced and increased international structure that includes Scotland, Sweden, Dubai and Malaysia.

Under this new structure, over a 16 month period, students will start their study in September at Heriot Watt University’s Edinburgh campus. In their second semester they have the option to stay in Edinburg or go to Dubai or Malaysia campuses. During the summer term they will undertake an industry based project before going to Umeå University in Sweden to complete their research based master dissertation.

On completion students, will be on awarded a Master of Science in Strategic Project Management from Heriot Watt University as well as a Master of Science in Business Administration from Umeå University.

Currently there are no plans for offering the new programme under the Erasmus+ framework. However, this may change in the future.
